The most comforting luxuries are often the
easiest to make.
✧
A warm bath at the end of the day does not
require anything elaborate.
With just a few dried herbs and a quiet
moment, you can create something deeply
restorative.
What you will need
1 cup coarse sea salt or Epsom salt
2 tablespoons dried lavender
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
1 tablespoon dried chamomile
A small linen pouch or muslin cloth
How to prepare it
In a simple bowl, combine the salt and herbs
using your hands.
There is no need to measure perfectly-the
feeling of the mixture matters more than precision..
Spoon the blend into a linen pouch or wrap it
loosely in cloth and tie with a string.
As the bath fills, place the pouch beneath the
running water.
The steam will release the scent gradually.
Let the room stay dim.
One lantern or candle is enough.
Step into the water slowly and allow the
warmth to soften the edges of the day.
When finished, hang the pouch near an open
window to dry.
It can be used again once or twice before
returning to the garden.
