Gathering Wildflowers for the Table

Gathering Wildflowers for the Table

An easy way to bring the meadow indoors.

✧

There is something lovely about flowers that
were never meant to be arranged.

Wild grasses, small blossoms, and stems
gathered slowly from the edges of a field carry
a softness that formal bouquets rarely do.

The process is simple.

Walk slowly.

Look for stems that bend naturally rather than
stand to stiff. A mixture of grasses, small
flowers, and greenery often creates the most
beautiful arrangement.

When you return home, place them loosely into
a simple vessel. A small pitcher or glass jar
works beautifully.

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is feeling.

A small reminder of the landscape that lives
just beyond the door.

A simple way to gather them

1. Choose a few tall grasses

2. Add smaller flowers or seed heads

3. Remove leaves from the lower stems

4. Place loosely in a pitcher or jar

5. Let some stems fall naturally

The most beautiful arrangements often look as
though they happened by accident.
